On their way to Chelsea…

It is with great admiration (and a little bit of envy), that I recently heard about two eFlorist users who are heading off to compete at Chelsea Flower Show 2010 for the first time!
Kate Bainbridge, owner of Simply Flowers in Devon and Caroline Crabb of Fleurtations in Cornwall are both extremely excited and madly preparing for this high profile week.
Like me, you probably have no idea how a florist gets to compete at Chelsea but as Kate says “The BFA hold heats on behalf of the Royal Horticultural Society. After much persuasion from friends and Gordon Jones (eFlorist Area Sales Manager), I entered the Bath heat!” For Caroline, it was off to the Plymouth heat. (more…)

The Perfect Christmas Gift
Posted by Dan Little | Filed under General News
During the Christmas peak it’s sometimes easy to forget how important sending and receiving flowers can be to our customers. With florist shops dealing with an increase in demand and high customer footfall, a little of the spirit of the festive season can be obscured by the need to remain organised arranging deliveries and collections.
The sentiments conveyed by sending someone flowers can mean a lot more than just “Best Wishes at Christmas” as the following email received by eFlorists busy call center illustrates:
eFlorist attends “a la mode”, the Society of Floristry Annual Show

Tracey Rowbottom demonstrates her floristry skills on behalf of eFlorist at the Society of Floristry annual show
On Sunday the 22nd of November the Society of Floristry held its annual show. Titled “a la mode”, the show included demonstrations, workshops, trade stands, seminars, a fashion parade and several competitions. The eFlorist stand was a hive of activity all day with demonstrations of the eFlorist system and two leading florists – Tracey Rowbottom (pictured) and Helen Jamieson – performing floristry demonstrations throughout the day. Each demonstration attracted a crowd of onlookers and the many professional florists, freelancers and floristry students were impressed with the quality and variety of arrangements created throughout the day.
The eFlorist system was on show throughout the event and the eFlorist team actively demonstrated the new system and were on hand to discuss the future of the floristry industry with the many eFlorist customers in attendance. eFlorist views events like these as crucial to the future of the industry and also as an opportunity to offer advice and assistance to florists who are training, starting out in the industry or are looking to develop their floristry business further. A lot of feedback was received about eFlorist which helps us to make those important steps forward with our florists.
It was a very positive sign to see the event so well attended and all at eFlorist look forward to the next opportunity to discuss floristry and the floristry industry with the many active and potential florists out there.
